This fits certain material very well, and in other cases it's a not so good fit. But again to my ears it sounded a lot "grainier" than UA's. Those are things that I associate with cheaper gear whereas "smooth" and "creamy" are words I'd more like to describe UA's emulation. I must admit that I'm no frequent user of either but I found the Fairchild to be more "grabby" and sound "pushed" a lot eariler than on the UAD.

The emulations of the Pultec and Fairchild are quite different from UA's. It turned out very good, but still 15-20% to go in terms of quality I think. I even tried replicating some mastering chains on material I've done and see how close it got to the real thing. My experience with it is that it's a damn good package for the home/beginning masterer. Tried it both for mastering and mixing purposes. I dove into it for about six hours, which is a lot longer than what I normally give a demo. I was very interested in the new T-RackS 3, since even though the quality of the package might not be the very best it's still pretty damn good.
